Gabriel’s Yoga Therapy provides a foundation of health and strength for every lifestyle. It complements all athletic activities as well as the movements we perform in the course of daily living.
I have worked with a wide range of clients who have conditions that require additional care in their approach to training, including lower back pain, sciatica, hernia, obesity, frozen shoulder, rotation cuff injuries, and cystic fibrosis. Yoga therapy has even helped people regain their health after cancer treatment. I have also seen its benefit to those in recovery from depression and substance addiction.
Seniors
Stay active as well as perform the tasks of everyday living with confidence. You will experience an increase in flexibility, strength, and balance, in a gentle yet effective physical workout that does not put any stress on the joints.
People Coping with Injury, Illness, or Physical Limitations
I have trained clients ranging in age from 15 to 80 years old. Some of these people did not think they could “do” exercise, due to injury, illness, or physical limitations. These clients found Gabriel’s Yoga Therapy to be safe and enjoyable, relieving pain and stress while increasing their daily comfort.
Cyclists
Improve body alignment and posture, allowing you to breathe more deeply and fuel your muscles for increased speed and stamina.
Equestrians
Develop more flexibility in the hips, strength in the core, and balance in the entire body. The focus on suppleness and core engagement supports a deep, centered, independent seat when you’re in the saddle. Not only will you feel more grounded and fit after each session, your horse will appreciate the difference!
Swimmers
Learn to connect even more deeply to the breath, supporting more powerful strokes and kicks.
Runners
Improve your stride and stamina while reducing stress on the joints. Your sessions will rebalance your body so that you do not end up with huge quads and glutes and a scrawny top half.
Outdoor Enthusiasts
Gabriel’s Yoga Therapy benefits outdoor exercisers of all types, from the weekend hiker to the downhill skier to the SCUBA diver. This is a complete fitness foundation that supports any athletic specialization. As you connect your movement to your breath, you will increase your power and endurance as well as your ability to perform at altitude and in depth.
